Built at the cost of £15m in a truly treasured spot on the North Cornish coast, The St Moritz Hotel's owners turned to Excess Energy to make sure they had the major launch that they deserved. Working with our sister design agency, the fabulous Absolute (www.absolute.co.uk), we created a strategically phased campaign that made sure that all the right media - local, regional, national and international - were smitten before the doors even opened.

As soon as the hotel was ready for its guests, we created a simply stylish launch night and invited all of the key tipping point people as well as a plethora of top travel and beauty journalists. Over the first year we made sure that any key journalist worth their salt also came to stay and the resultant reviews and constant coverage got the phones buzzing and bookings flocking in. So much so that the hotel flew straight into Conde Nast's influential Hot List and the Cowshed spa also received a Conde Nast Beauty Award.

But, never ones to rest on our laurels, recently we've also created the St Moritz's facebook community, a 'Solid As Rock' VIP local's loyalty scheme and have masterminded the world's first ever hotel website written for children by children.
